Are you one of the confused victims of the iPhone 12 crash, happening all over the world? If yes, here's what you should know and how to fix it-- for only five easy steps.

iPhone crash: Everything you should know

The DownDetector.com had recently seen thousands of complaints against the recent iPhone crashes. Widespread reports caught up on the site and told everyone that several most-used apps like Spotify, Pinterest, PUBG Mobile, Tinder, and other iPhones are not opening properly.

The Verge said that Facebook was the main source of the problem in this issue. Facebook's software development kit or SDK that manages the user logins of several apps found a bug inside. Android users were not reported to be part of the issue.

Facebook already issued a statement regarding the issue and said to be fixing it already.

"We are aware and investigating an increase in errors on the iOS SDK, which is causing some apps to crash," said the firm.

Well-known app developer Guilherme Rambo shared on The Verge that Facebook has been doing this trial since day one. And that's where the problem lies.

"Facebook really pushes developers into installing their SDK, likely because they want the very rich data they can collect on those app's users," said Rambo in May. "The SDK is offered as a convenience for both developers and marketing teams since it can also be used to track the conversions of ads run through Facebook."

How to fix the iPhone crash?

If you're still struggling to know how to fix the iPhone crash on your device, here's an advice from The Verge and 9to5mac.

The main key to fix the bug is through closing and blocking all the apps from accessing the Facebook domain. Since iPhone users usually connect their apps to Facebook, the root of the problem starts there. Here are the steps you need to make.

  • First, install Lockdown Apps
  • Launch the app
  • Decline any trials being offered
  • Click the Firewall button
  • Say 'yes' to install the VPN profile

And that's it! Lockdown apps, as per The Verge, is a firewall and privacy protection app for iOS users. It uses VPN to block any trackers that can be used from Facebook.

Remember that these steps are just a temporary solution to the problem. Since Facebook nor Apple are not yet giving any opinions or tips about the problem, this is the best fixer-upper we've got.
