Succubus demo review

A demo for horror game Succubus is now out on Steam and you need to get a lot of courage to stomach every game scene. As we wait for the release date that is yet to be revealed, here's a quick look of what to expect.

The game is a spin-off of Madmind Studio's Agony which was released in 2018. The difference is that, Succubus is full-on action game equipped with a rage meter, a wheel of power and weapons, as well as a kick similar to that in Dark Messiah, while Agony is more on avoiding combat.

In Succubus, you will play 'demonic priestess of lust' named Vydija. Your main goal is to take revenge against demons who conspired against you.  Expect to do the following demonic abilities based from the demo:

  •  Use hellbugs as sponges as you take a bath in blood
  •  Kick so-called 'martyrs' into spikes
  •  Watch someone feed his own feces to a demonic child with big head
  •  Punch of someone, rip his dick off, and stomp on it
  •  Tear a fetus out of a pregnant woman and drink its blood

There are instances when you need to climb so as to kick martyrs into spikes. It appears like a very quick event without limit in time though. It tells you when you should press D and W, yet there is actually no insight shown. You also have to rover your mouse around to locate more handhold nearby then left-click to jump over.

In general, it's a pretty boring game where there is no means to fail. Even if gamers walk off ledges, there's not even a fall damage.

The absence of any sense of impact among blades as you drudge up demons and torture souls makes the combat less fun as well. Judging the kick's distance is challenging plus the glowing foot does not justify the pathetic animation.

A new video trailers comes with the latest demo. It shows X-ray abortions, decapitation, demonic sex, and demon boobs.

Here's how to download Succubus.
