According to The Drive's latest report, the company is well known for its car technology adapting to the changing environments. Tesla's hard work helped it get through many obstacles when it was just starting until it was successful.

However, car manufacturers are not perfect, and they could also make some mistakes. A recent thread on the Tesla Motors Club forum revealed that the company might have assembled their vehicles using what looks like faux wood trim from a home improvement store.

The issue began when a photo of Model Y's frunk plastics was posted on the forum. It was reported that the uploader of the picture spent more than 10 hours disassembling their Model Y to correct poor panel fitment.

They noticed a large chunk of metal secured with green tape and a small strap during their work.

"Someone made a run to Home Depot to make Q2 numbers," said the original uploader.

"I wouldn't recommend doing it just to look for this," added the user.

What the owners saw inside their vehicles

The large metal in the posted photo is Model Y's Liquid Cooled Condenser (LCC). It serves as a heat exchanger, transferring refrigerant through a large block where it sends the cryogen's thermal properties and other parts of the cooling system.

The pieces of wood found in the cars seem like a strain relief for the strap supporting the LCC in place. Tesla might have used the trims to keep the tension from providing unnecessary stress on the condenser during flexing or vibration.

It could also prevent any sharp corners from damaging the strap holding the LCC.
