A company claims that its transparent face mask is the very first one to receive FDA-approval. If it's true, then ClearMask will really be helpful, especially to those who have disabilities. The manufacturer has already sold more than 12.5 million since April.

When the global coronavirus pandemic started, almost all of the countries across the globe demanded for medical masks. However, a regular mask or medical face cover has many downsides, especially to those people who are deaf and who have a hard time hearing other individuals.

According to Business Insider, ClearMask can also help children undergoing early socio-emotional development and early language development to the neurodiverse population.

"The ClearMask calms anxious patients through a visible, reassuring smile at the hospital," said Allyssa Dittmar, ClearMask's co-founder and president via Business Insider.

"Connects educators and childcare professionals with their students and children, and provides critical accessibility to the 48 million Americans who have hearing loss," she added.

ClearMask offers two face masks

As of the moment, the Baltimore-based company is offering two kinds of face masks. These are FDA-approved non-medical face covering and medical face masks.

The non-medical iteration costs $67 for 24 pieces, while the medical one costs up to $87 for the pack of 24. Of course, the medical mask is better than the other face mask since it comes with an anti-coating to maintain the transparent or clear covering. The company also offers two types of straps: tie-on and EZ-adjusters.

Other Face Masks for easier communication

Aside from ClearMask, there are also other face coverings that have features for easier communication. Real Simple reported that Sachika Transparent face covering combines fashion and function with transparent designs

This product also brings simple styles that have a nose wire. If you're not a fan of it, the product also has a version without the nose wire, which is the favorite of most consumers.

The other one is called SamoFinds Transparent 3D Mask. This one has a minimalistic version, as well as colorful options. This face mask comes in white or black trim that can be paired with any outfit.
