The PlayStation 5's stocks are still hard to come by today since its initial release last November 12.  Sony came up with a way to let people purchase the console off their online stores. Sony's reason for this method is for the sale's legitimacy, but Redditors think it is just a scam after waiting in-line virtually.

One of the most coveted pieces of technology of 2020 is Sony's next-generation console, the PS5, has significant inadequacies in terms of stocks as people still go under rigorous processes to obtain one. The Japanese technology and entertainment conglomerate made a new system to answer this problem once and for all.

The PlayStation 5 stocks have faced several answers, including Discord, Reddit, and Twitter bots that alert people whenever stocks appear online, particularly on e-commerce and retail websites. PS5 Stock Trackers are also available on websites and online databases, requiring people to observe its developments closely.

Additionally, going to Sony's official and direct website gives a sense of security and safety when buying the PlayStation 5, which have recently shipped with fake contents inside its boxes to buyers. Most of the fake PS5 packages are coming from user-generated buy-and-sell platforms, including eBay.

Since PlayStation 5 is one of the highly-coveted techs of 2020, the massive demand for the PS5 bombarded Sony with requests and massive site traffic that needed regulation. Enforcing a queue means that the company can only allow a specific number of users on its website to purchase the PS5.

This method can also help filter out customers who use bots for hunting and purchasing for the next-generation console. Screen Rant advised people not to refresh the queue site for the PS5 to continue holding the spot given by Sony when they first entered.

Despite Sony's promising method on its buyers and potential customers, people who were in the queue and made it inside the e-store gathered in Reddit to rant about the status when buying PS5. Several users reported that they waited for 15 minutes (and more) when the website said it was their turn to enter the site.

After several minutes of inactivity and "your turn" status to buy the PS5, Sony's website would give them an "out of stock" status upon entering the online store. Redditors are infuriated by the turn of events, especially after queueing up and expecting a sale once it reaches Sony's website.
