According to Game Spot, the game's developer Niantic has recently published the details of the game's first Community Day event for 2021.

'Pokemon Go' Machop Community Day 2021
"Pokemon Go" January 2021 Community Day will feature Machop, a Fighting-type Pokemon. This means its weaknesses include Flying, Fairy, and Psychic moves.
Back in February, Machop lost against Rhyhorn during the player voting for Community Day. However, Machop will finally be able to take the center stage as it will be featured for 2021's first community day event. It will happen on January 16, 2021 and will start from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time.
Also among the options on the February ballot were Dratini and Vulpix. With Machop Community Day to arrive soon suggests that Vulpix and Dratini may also get their own spotlight in the future.
Machop will appear much more frequently throughout the Community Day event and players may even get a chance to come across a Shiny Machop. Currently, there are three Pokémon within the Machop family. The fighting Machop evolves into Machoke for 25 Candy while it can further evolve into Machamp for 100 Candy.
For players who can evolve Machop's evolved form, Machoke into Machamp within two hours after the Community Day event ends, it will have the Payback Dark-type attack, which is a move that is exclusive to the event.
Meanwhile, players can get a surprise by taking some snapshots during the Community Day. They may also avail of the Machop Community Day Box from the in-game store for 1,280 PokéCoins. This bundle is available on a special one-time-purchase that will include 30 Ultra Balls, four Incense, four Star Pieces, and an Elite Charged TM.
Machop Community Day 2021 bonuses
Players may also avail of some Machop Community Day bonuses during the event. They can earn three times more Stardust that can be used for catching "Pokemon" throughout the event. Also, all incense used during the event will stay active for three hours.
Meanwhile, players may also access the exclusive Special Research story in Machop Community Day by buying the ticket for only $1. However, those who will purchase a ticket for the "Pokemon Go" Kanto Tour event on or before January 13 will also receive tickets for the Community Day special research stories for January and February.
'Pokémon GO' Holiday Event 2020
'Pokémon GO' holidays event 2020 will begin on December 22 and run until December 31. Players may look forward to Pokémon like Pikachu, Delibird, and Cubchoo, which will appear in holiday costumes as well as Ice-type Pokémon Snover, Jynx, and "Pokémon GO" newbie Vanillite.
The event will also feature winter-themed stickers and avatar items as well as event-exclusive Field Research and rewards.
