Electronics company Asus accidentally leaked the Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti and some of its features. The Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti is an updated version of the Nvidia RTX 3080 and it is said to be released this February 2021, after the Chinese New Year.

Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti leaked

The ROG-STRIX-RTX3080TI-O20G-GAMING and ROG-STRIX-RTX3080TI-20G-GAMING are the two SKUs appeared on the website of Asus.

The former is said to be factory overclocked and the latter is said to use reference clocks. Like the previous rumors and leaks, the Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti will site just between the 3080 and 3090 in term of memory. The 3080 has around 10GB of GDDR6X RAM while the 3090 offers 24GBs. The 3080 Ti has 20GB, allegedly.

For now, there is no price for the 3080 Ti announced. Given that the 3080 sits at around $700 on the market and the 3090 costs around $1500, the 3080 Ti would probably be around $1,000, according to TechRadar.

Given the high demand for both cards, it is possible that Nvidia could charge more for the 3080 Ti, but since the Radeon RX 6900 XT from AMD costs $999, it is possible that the green team can't go too far with the price.

The Asus leak also showed the possibility of the release of RTX 3060 12 GB, which is a direct competitor to AMD's Radeon RX 6700 XT 12GB. The 3060 12GB is expected to be on the market by January 2021, according to Tom's Guide.

Key differences

The year 2021 is exciting for Nvidia and those who are waiting for the release of the RTX 3000 series. This can be the perfect time to upgrade your computer spec and nothing could be more exciting than the brand new lineup of the company's GPUs.

However, one issue was that the RTX 3000 had too little information for people to fawn over. Thankfully, a recent leak done by Chiakokhua on Twitter has given the public all of the information that they need.

The leak not only contained the release dates of each of the new Nvidia RTX graphics cards, but the actual specs and details too. This then made people think on what card to get.

For those who are looking for the best option available, many are asking what the differences are between the RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3080.

The GPU core of the RTX 3080 Ti is 8192 while the RTX 3080 is only 4608, the RT cores of the RTX 3080 Ti are 256 while the RTX 3080 are around 144.

The tensor cores of the RTX 3080 Ti are 1024 while for RTX 3080, they are 576. The boost clock of the RTX 3080 Ti is 1750 MHz while for the RTX 3080 it is 2000 MHz. The VRAM Speed are the same for both, with 16 Gbps. The transistor size is the same too with 7nm.

The difference between the RTX 3080 Ti and the RTX 3090 is that the RTX 3090 has amazing resolutions up to 8K. The HDMI 2.1 makes it possible for an 8K resolution in just a single cable. This is a feature that people still don't know if  RTX 3080 Ti has.

The RTX 3090 has 10496 CUDA cores, 1.70 GHz boost clock, 24 GB memory size and GDDR6X memory type.

It is important to remember that while the specs of the cards are clear, it is only leak. The numbers can still change as there is no real guarantee that what is seen on the leak will be what the final release is.
