Nintendo fans discovered that the company's release date for 2020/2021 included "Banjo-Kazooie" and "Blast Corps" which were supposed to be scheduled to release on December 30 for the Wii U Virtual Console.

However, the excitement ended after Nintendo removed the game listings and published a notice that the games were listed by mistake and was not scheduled to be there.

Despite this, some fans deemed it suspicious that two Rare games would be included in the official Nintendo release schedule by accident.

The news got fans excited even though Wii U has been obsolete for a while because it would still give Nintendo users a way to play "Banjo-Kazooie" on a Nintendo system.

Japanese gaming news source Gematsu tweeted screenshots of the calendar in English, but shortly after, Nintendo removed them and posted a notice that the games will not be delivered.

Because of this hiccup, it is safe to assume that if "Banjo-Kazooie" was to make its way onto a console, it would be through Switch and not Wii U, according to Screen Rant.
