In an article by PhoneArena, the two devices are compared with regards to display, camera, battery, size, and processors. Then, in the end, a verdict is given. Read on to know which among the two does better!

Display

Galaxy S21 Ultra has a slightly greater edge than iPhone 12 Pro with regards to screen size. It has a 0.1 bigger screen, although not noticeable. Their difference is that for the iPhone, it has a notch which is very noticeable when using the phone. The notch is where the Face iD sensor and camera is built. On the other hand, the Galaxy has a slightly sleek screen and razor thin bezels for a more modern, futuristic look.

In terms of scrolling, Samsung has an advantage as it has a 120Hz refresh rate which is twice as fast as that of the iPhone which only has 60Hz. The Samsung also has higher resolution and sharper graphics. Not to mention, Samsung's refresh rate can be turned to maximum speed with the QHD solution.

Performance

Both Samsung and Apple utilize the most advanced technology there is for processors. Samsung uses a Snapdragon 888 chip when made in the United States, while other models outside will have the Samsung-made Exynos 2100 processor. Apple uses the Apple A14 Bionic Chip.

Although both are unproblematic, Samsung just has a slightly greater edge because of its integrated 5G modem. It could make the device more efficient when used with 5G as compared to Apple.

Both storages are unexpandable, since both do not offer a microSD card slot. Both offer the same amount of on-board storage with 128GB. Both are also available on all major carriers and both supports 5G connectivity

Camera

In terms of style, Apple sticks with the traditional induction stove like design for cameras. On the other hand, Samsung makes it more blendable for the phone. Both have raised camera beds.

Apparently, Galaxy has the advantage with its two telephoto camera features as compared to the iPhone that only has one. Galaxy has a periscope lens with 10x zoom capacity. It also has secondary zoom camera with 3x lens. When you need to take a photo of something from a far distance, Samsung easily has the greater advantage.

Both phones feature an ultra-wide angle lens. In terms of focusing, Galaxy uses a laser auto focus system while the iPhone uses a LiDAR sensor to focus on the object even in low light. In terms of focus, iPhone can adapt more even in bad lighting.

In terms of video recording, both have distinct offers. iPhone can do a maximum of 4K video but only supports the Dolby HDR to maintain the standard of rich, contrasty colors. On the ot9ehr hand, Samsung has the 8K maximum with higher dynamic range at 30fps.

Battery and Charging

In terms of battery, the difference is also easily recognizable. Android comes with a bigger battery compared to the iPhone. The Galaxy has a 5,000mAh, while the iPhone only has 3,687mAh. As a result, the Galaxy obviously has a battery capacity that's about twice as huge as the iPhone. In terms of endurance, Galaxy has the advantage.

For charging, the iPhone 12 Pro Max supports speeds of up to 20W, while the Galaxy S21 Ultra is expected to support marginally faster, 25W charging speeds. The iPhone was also the first mainstream phone on the market to ship without a charger, and the S21 Ultra is the first major Android phone to follow this unfortunate move.

In terms of charging, Samsung promises to deliver faster with the 25W speed as compared to the 20W of iPhone. Both also support wireless charging when there's a compatible charger. However, the iPhone performs better at wireless charging with its MagsSafe technology. The technology allows the phone to magnetically secure the charging, which hasn't been figured out yet by Samsung.

Prices

Slightly, Samsung is more expensive than the Apple counterpart. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G retails at $1,200 for 128GB model, $1,250 for 256GB, $1,380 for 512GB. On the other hand, Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max retails at $1,100 for 128GB model, $1,200 for 256GB, $1,400 for 512GB.

Verdict

Samsung definitely outweighs Apple's performance and design. It has a bigger battery life, which is more practical, and offers better options for camera and video taking. It also has a faster refresh rate for smoother scrolling. With a slightly higher price, it's a big bang for your buck.
