For years, supermodels and couture fashion houses of New York have dictated the gold standard of global fashion and beauty. Today, aspiring young models still relocate to New York City in hopes of making it big in the modeling industry. But as one of the most competitive industries in the market, a single casting can yield hundreds of models from countless agencies. Though rising Polish model has got the industry down to a science. Despite the fact that New York Model Management signee Aga Wojtasik never saw herself pursuing a career as a model, in hindsight with seven years of experience now under her belt working in multiple markets worldwide, her approach to modeling is now informed by the years she spent learning and gleaning from industry leaders above her.

"I quickly realized how important attitude and energy are on set," Wojtasik says. "People love to work with people they like, so many times, my personality and simply being nice to everyone helped me rebook jobs."

As a young model, Wojtasik had the opportunity of working for major market luxury brands Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Issey Miyake, French Connection and Uniqlo. With this experience, she was molded into a seasoned model with practices that have, and continue to position her for success. Furthermore, having been afforded the opportunity to collaborate with prestigious fashion photographers, over time, Wojtasik developed her own technique that she would use during each photo shoot. Despite the fact that many thing that there isn't much to modeling other than having a pretty face, Wojtasik learned early on that it would take much more than that. Through a distinctive technique of performing elegant, fluid movements in front of the camera, the young model would produce desirable results in front of the camera.

With this strategy, Wojtasik managed to procure even greater clients such as Calvin Klein, LaQuan Smith, Rebecca Minkoff, Derek Lam, Pat McGrathm Anthropologie, Opening Ceremony, and Urban Outfitters in New York City. With confidence in her look and her technique as a model, she showed continual success, proving her value and talent to casting directors and photographers worldwide.

"I have learned how to take and respect criticism when it is constructive," Wojtasik said. "It makes me a better model. However, some people's opinions are not worth a second thought, and I have recognized how to differentiate the two, and ultimately this has made me very aware of my self-worth. I think a lot of models lose their sense of it, and their self-esteem drops. I am aware of who I am and what I stand for, and this has helped me maintain ground in the industry."

Though she's only 23 years old, Wojtasik already boasts an impressive portfolio of work. But as she continues to grow and evolve with the industry, what she now looks forward to the most is taking on more challenging and complex photo shoots. Grateful for the opportunities she's thus far been provided, Wojtasik has her sights set on even bigger ambitions, constantly keeping in mind that, "When one door closes, another will always open."
