Twitch was discovered in a recent leak that details how it would be setting up a scoring system that would rank streamers of their performance and history, to determine their advertisement placements and partners. The merit and demerit system would focus on the suspension history greatly, as it aims to determine streamer behavior and etiquette.

The new Twitch scoring system is called the "Brand Safety Score," and it would determine how a streamer would be given advertisements, based on the platform's regulation of the money-generating method. If this system continues, streamers and content creators would have to watch their videos more often and avoid violating Twitch's community guidelines.

In the recent 2020 report of Twitch, it revealed that the platform has generated over 38 life-threatening calls to the local police because of the content previewed by influencers on their live streams. For this reason alone, it is understandable that Twitch wants to revamp the platform to be a safer environment, especially as it mostly attracts adolescents, teens, and minors.

According to a tweet by user Daylam 'tayari' Tayari (@tayariCS), a code in Twitch's systems reveals that there is a hidden metric system called the "Brand Safety Score" which would regulate behavior in the platform. Moreover, this scoring system aims to promote good behavior by giving streamers the rightful amount of ads based on streaming performance.

Streamers are monitored by Twitch's moderators which uphold strict compliance to the gaming platform's Community Guidelines that denounce negative behavior, violence, harassment, and the like. Moreover, Tayari adds that the Brand Safety Score is tied directly to advertisements and how the gamers could use the ads from brands.

Moreover, the company would also be monitoring other factors on the ad placements that would be given to them, and it would largely be based on the demographics of the streamer. Twitch moderator ratings from humans that monitor each stream would also be accounted for, which is going to be a considerable factor for this.

According to End Gadget, a Twitch spokesperson almost confirmed the new scoring metric for streamers in their statement but immediately clarified that they are only matching the right ads for streamers and watchers. The Brand Safety Score is not yet launched in the platform and the system is still in the works, as revealed by the leaker.

Twitch aims to turn the platform for the better and add various systems that would help in regulating streamer behavior more than its existing community guidelines, moderators, and ban system. Streamers would have to be warier of their content to receive the best possible ads for their content once the Brand Safety Score launches.
