Cleerly has recently developed an AI-powered imaging technology that would be the solution to the silent killers in the world: heart attacks. Through the help of the New York-Presbyterian Hospital and Weill Cornell Medicine, the health care company has come up with a new digital approach for health problem detection.

In a statement by Cleerly CEO James Min, advanced imaging has been previously used for cancer prevention over the past years. However, the common cause of mortality has not been addressed for a digital solution.

The investment which costs $43 million has tackled the use of AI intervention in combating heart attack. Through scanning the heart, the health experts could identify the persons who could be hit by the deadly disease. It is based on an analysis conducted in the coronary artery region.

The lab images which account for a huge database involves clinical trial data from over 50,000 patients. The algorithm of the platform has been responsible for the calculation of the heart attack's severity and risks. The team behind the development has supplied more information about the instances where oxygen pathways are blocked.

Min said that they are using 3D mammograms, lung CT scans, and colonoscopies when looking for problems present in the colon, lung, and breast. On the other hand, they do not have the same capabilities which could measure the number one disease in the world.

Compared to the traditional treatment, Cleerly would guarantee the patient with much more comprehensive tracking of cardiac problems. The company which is headquartered in New York will use blood cholesterol levels as indicators for the occurrence of heart attack.

Additionally, the company saw beforehand that the first symptom of heart attack is also heart attack. This prompted Cleerly to run a series of diagnostic tests for a well-suited AI technology.

A Better Understanding About a Person's Artery

The digital platform that Cleerly developed was a great help for both physicians and patients. For the latter, a better understanding of the state of their arteries would be ideal to know. Through the AI-powered imaging technology, they would only rely on medical images that won't require advanced training, Fierce Biotech reported on Monday, June 21.

The investors that set up the funding for Cleerly's AI digital platform have been involved since 2017. Some of them include LRVHealth, DigiTx Partners, Cigna Ventures, Vensana Capital, and the American College of Cardiology.

The partnerships that the company formed with other collaborators would be extended. The net proceeds in the creation of the digital system for a heart attack would be used to seek other new strategic partners in the future.

According to Justin Klein, a managing partner from Vensana Capital, Cleerly has been dedicated to contributing to the field of healthcare improvement aligned to its mission that will look after the welfare of the patients. Through the advanced diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, and management, the company would give the individuals a "cost-effective and world-class" service to all.
