Apple has posted a new television advertisement for the iPad Air called "The Verse Anthem" that takes quote from the 1989 film, Dead Poets Society. It's one of the best ads from Apple so far, one that might keep the viewer glued to the screen until the end of the 90 seconds runtime.

A description of the ad reads: "We're humbled and inspired by what people do with iPad. So we set out to capture some of their stories. What will your verse be?"

The whole 90 second advertisement is mainly filled with video clips of the iPad Air taken in exotic and remote places around the world. From mountain climbing to deep sea diving, everything is here that helps to make up a stunning ad. Furthermore, we have to admit that the cinematography is breathtaking to the point where we wished it could have gone on for a little longer.

The best part though is the inspirational dialog by the narrator, that was borrowed from Dead Poets Society.

"We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, "O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?" Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?"

Apple has a companion website of the ad on its website. It goes into detail talking about the creative ways one is able to use his/her iPad Air. It is clear that Apple is aiming to touch the viewer's emotion with the ad, which seems to work rather than an ad that focuses on specifications and big numbers. The numbers game only attract folks who knows what they mean, but for the average tablet user, only the features and app catalog matter.
