Some users have no time to clean their room or search for an ideal spot for a virtual meeting. That's why they prefer to use a "neutral" space for the set-up. This option also adds some privacy and respect to your working area.

How to Blur Zoom Background

In a report by Zapier, there are a few easy steps that you need to follow to achieve this option. Blurring your background will only take less than three minutes to do if you will pay attention to this guide.

  1. Open the Zoom Desktop app on your computer.

  2. Tap your profile icon.

  3. From there, choose Settings. For another option, you can also launch Zoom.us and go to the Preferences which you can find in the toolbar.

  4. On the left sidebar of the app, tap the Background & Filters

  5. For the final step, select Blur from a selection of virtual backgrounds.

In addition, you can apply a "blurred" background if you are joined in an ongoing meeting. That's simple through the following procedures:

  1. Look for Start Video or Stop Video besides Unmute.

  2. Search for the caret symbol beside it and click it.

  3. After that, tap Choose a virtual background.

How to Blur FaceTime Background

With the arrival of iOS 15, Apple introduced the Portrait Mode option for FaceTime users. The Cupertino firm-owned video telephony software can now allow the participants to blur their background during online calls.

In just under five minutes, you can finish setting up this feature, per Digital Trends.

  1. Open your FaceTime app before a conference or a call.

  2. Launch the Control Center by swiping it from your screen's top right corner.

  3. Click the Video Effects button on your iPhone. You can look for that in the upper left corner.

  4. Begin blurring your background by tapping the Portrait icon.

How to Set Up Portrait Mode Upon Receiving a Call

You can do this trick even if you respond immediately to the unexpected call. 

  1. At the bottom part of the FaceTime session, click the camera view thumbnail. The viewer on the other line could see your real background when accessing it on full screen.

  2. Click the Portrait icon located in the top left corner.

  3. After that, the background will now be blurred.
