T-Mobile Achieves One Million Active Customers for Its Home Internet

According to the story by XDA-developers, aside from its rollouts in more areas and the company's newer gateways, T-Mobile has been able to pass a new milestone of reaching one million active customers.

In a press release by the company, it stated that earlier in April, T-Mobile welcomed its one millionth home internet customer. The release described this as a remarkable growth after just a year since the commercial launch of the service.

Company Said 5G Network Expansion Made This Possible

The company said that this was possible due to its 5G network expansion, which means that 10 million homes will additionally be able to avail of the 5G network expansion. There are now over 40 million households that are eligible for the home internet service, which is all covered with 5G.

As per T-Mobile, the company started offering a better 5G-compatible gateway for its faster internet through a slow expansion since its initial debut. T-Mobile's pre-paid wireless brand called Metro even started offering an additional line to its subscribers.

Service Costs $50/Month with Automatic Pay and $55/Month without Automatic Pay

The additional line was launched earlier this year and connected subscribers with home internet. When paid automatically, the service costs $50 per month, but without autopay, users will have to spend $55 a month.

The service boasted no data caps but has received mixed impressions among its users and reviewers. One review that came from Android Central from April 2021 said that this made users dependent on good coverage within the area of T-Mobile's network.

The Verge said that T-Mobile's spotty service is a major issue among users. For customers within good reach of T-Mobile's 5G or LTE, the service can potentially be an improvement, unlike other traditional internet service providers (ISPs).

In T-Mobile's press release, the company stated that before the news, they were already considered the fastest growing broadband provider within the United States. As per the report, Q4 2021 saw the company add more customers to its broadband service than other providers within its country.
