No, you are not the only one that experienced server down and login issues in "Overwatch" and "World of Warcraft" tonight, as the world is also complaining about this as they try to access the games. The reason for this is the recent DDoS attack that Activision Blizzard faced recently, and the company immediately resolved the problem.

Only four to five hours ago, Activision Blizzard confirmed that its Battle.Net servers were down, and it was because of a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack, which it did not expand on for the public. The DDoS effectively crippled its servers and hindered players from accessing the game, being stuck on the login page.

It mainly affected "Overwatch" and "World of Warcraft" gamers that highly depend on the Battle.Net to authenticate their login and join its servers for the world to experience.

The attack is extensive, and a DDoS breach is no joke for tech companies that mainly border on online features for their products.

How to Troubleshoot Battle.Net If Still Facing Trouble Login

A little more than an hour later, Blizzard announced that the company had already fixed the issue on the BNet servers, and users may be able to log in back then until the present. It presented several problems for gamers during the initial server down observation, with some still having trouble connecting after the fix.

Activision Blizzard included a troubleshooting guide on its Battle.Net to connect and log in after the DDoS attack, allowing players to connect easily.

There are many steps to it, but the most important one is to reset one's internet or other network connections.

Activision Blizzard's 'Overwatch' and 'World of Warcraft'

Many games are still running from Activision Blizzard, and these titles would not cease to exist despite their sale to Microsoft for the entirety of the company. Microsoft and Activision Blizzard did not seal the deal or finalize their acquisition, but it is slowly getting there in partnership with the Xbox for its new future.

Titles like "Overwatch" and "Overwatch 2" are the front-running games on Blizzard's library, with the game bringing a new experience for all as the company launched the closed beta for its sequel. Gamers are awaiting this new title, and some have gone into Twitch streams to access the beta.

On the other hand, "World of Warcraft" recently launched its new expansion pack that brings new content for the title, focusing on its RPG offers.

Also, who would forget the famous "Call of Duty" franchise under Activision Blizzard, one of the world's top platforms for action gaming and PvP matches.

Activision Blizzard may have faced a DDoS attack and an acquisition deal with Microsoft, but it is in no way halting the development of its famous games in the industry. The games live on, and Activision Blizzard said it has already fixed the issue, providing a troubleshooting guide to help those who still cannot access BNet.
