Based on the Apple patent, the new iPhone case can automatically adjust the UI (User Interface) of its iPhone models.

It can change the smartphone UI to offer a better screen control setup whenever you are playing games, taking photos, or using your device while on a self-driving vehicle.

"The graphical user interfaces that are activated when a device is used with an accessory may therefore be customized to a particular function," said tech firm Apple Patently

According to 9To5Mac's latest report, the new iPhone case relies on the so-called near-field wireless communication system.

For those who are not familiar with NFC, it is a short-range wireless tech that allows two devices to communicate with each other via an electromagnetic radio field.

This means that the specialized iPhone case technology will have some sort of chips that will activate automatic UI adjustments.

If the new iPhone accessory really arrives, Apple consumers can have their devices automatically adjust their controls to fit their phone activities.

How It Actually Works

Based on the images provided in the new Apple patent, the specialized iPhone case can either remove or add buttons. On the other hand, the orientation of the user interface will also be changed depending on how you are using your device.

But, this will still depend on the design of the actual iPhone case. If the accessory is a sports-focused model, then it will offer controls that can be used for outdoor activities.

These include the weather apps, temperature, etc. On the other hand, if you are using a specialized iPhone case that has a speaker dock, then it will show audio controls instead.

When it comes to self-driving cars, the iPhone case can also detect if you inserted it in a smartphone car holder. Once this happens, your Apple CarPlay or other applications related to driving will show up.
