The Pixel Watch has been confirmed but not a lot is known about its release. Rumors have started to circulate regarding the potential release date of the Google wearable pointing towards an October release due to previous launches.

Pixel Watch Announced in May 11 at the Google I/O Keynote

Ever since the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 3, rumors have started to circulate regarding the Pixel Watch. According to Screen Rant, while fans were expecting the previous years to be the launch of the wearable, nothing has been confirmed in the past until recently.

Google officially announced the existence of a Pixel Watch on May 11 of this year during the Google I/O keynote. The company also gave a brief preview of what buyers should expect when it comes to the wearable.

Pixel Watch to Include Fitbit Integration and Wear OS 3

The article notes that the wearable could come with a round design. This was also confirmed in another post by CNet.

Other information regarding the wearable is that the Pixel Watch will come with Fitbit integration and be packed with the Wear OS 3. The device, however, will be powered by a previous four-year-old chipset, the Exynos chip, according to Pocket Now.

Wearable to Launch Alongside the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro

Although there have been sufficient details regarding what buyers can expect from the Pixel Watch, one thing that isn't known is when it will be releasing. Upon its May unveiling, Google simply said that the Pixel Watch will be coming out "this fall."

Google pointed towards its launch alongside the Pixel 7 as well as the Pixel 7 Pro. Its release window, although defined, could still be interpreted in a lot of ways.

This means that the wearable could launch anywhere from September to late December of this year. Despite not a lot of information given regarding its release date, when looking at the previous release dates for other Pixel products, the window narrows down to either September or October.

Here are the Previous Launch Dates for Other Pixel Devices:

  • October 18 - Pixel 3

  • October 24 - Pixel 4

  • September 30 - Pixel 5

  • October 28 - Pixel 6

Since the wearable is set to be released "alongside" the Pixel 7, Screen Rant notes that this points towards a potential October launch. It is still possible, however, that the launch of the Pixel Watch could be pushed back to November due to the ongoing chip shortage.

Delays are Caused by the Supply Chain Delays

Screen Rant notes that based on information available, it seems like the Pixel Watch release date could happen in October. In an article by Gizmo China, Google decided to move its product line from China to Vietnam due to tightening restrictions around COVID-19.

With no signs of supply chain delays slowing down, despite a potential release in October, fans might have to prepare for a delay in the launch of the Pixel Watch.
