Apple's AR/VR Headset Goes Standalone

This time around, the latest report from the folks at The Information centers on the decision of the top brass of Apple for the direction of its long-awaited AR/VR headset. It also exposed a couple of noteworthy details regarding the upcoming device.

But what stands out is what the news outlet claims to be the route that Apple is taking for its augmented reality and virtual reality project.

It specifically claims that Apple plans to move forward to make its AR/VR project a standalone headset, sans the base station.

So it appears that the Cupertino tech giant has already ditched the idea of going for a more powerful VR headset that requires a base station, which produces better overall picture quality.
