Atmos Labs, known as the builder of play-and-earn metaverse-based games and e-sports developer, raised $11 million in early investment for its competition-based sci-fi game housed in a digital world, Atmos.

Atmos Labs to Push Their Goal of Combining e-Sports With Traditional Sporting Events in a Latest Funding Round

Animoca Brands, Collab+Currency, FBG Capital, Alumni Ventures, RedBeard Ventures, DWeb3, LD Capital, GSR Markets Limited, CoinGecko Ventures, Avocado Guild, UniX Gaming, and others participated in the round. The funds will be used to provide the groundwork for Atmos' virtual gaming environment, create its community, and expand the Atmos staff, which currently has 18 staffers in its employ.

The game is developed to contribute to the development of metaverse-native sports. Its goal is to support adoption efforts by creating an immersive environment where spectators can feel as though they are actually watching a sports broadcast while supporting the teams they are rooting for. The goal is to link sports and esports through an innovative application of the concepts of the metaverse.

One of the inspirations behind Atmos was Orson Scott Card's classic sci-fi novel, where groups of people battled it out against each other in a zero-gravity space environment. Atmos wants to take it further by making the player experience much better than partaking in a real-life sport.

Basically, Atmos will be a 3D racing and flying game where players can own virtual, wearable exosuits that function similarly to car skins. This is also the type of equipment that provides the players' avatars with certain sets of characteristics while giving them the ability to perform superhuman feats.

To date, competitive sports in virtual settings have had limited worldwide popularity and have failed to convincingly answer critics' criticisms, such as questions about the authenticity of viewing and exclusive meanings of the term "sport."

What's Ahead of Atmos Labs?

With the introduction of virtual reality environments powered by blockchain technology, DeFi, and NFTs - the "metaverse," historical concepts of gaming and sports stand to be upended, putting the gamer and even the spectator at the center of the ecosystem.

Atmos, a new play-and-earn metaverse, is creating an immersive experience in a new virtual environment that will combine an esports component with the fandom and sense of belonging that traditional sports bring.

The game and its tale are produced by skilled veterans from the domains of gaming, crypto, automotive, industrial design, comic books, cinema, and more, to ignite the category of metaverse-native sports. Atmos players will not only play but will also own their gear, teams, identities, and moments thanks to NFTs, DeFi, and the concepts of the growing metaverse.

Atmos will undertake a transmedia campaign in the following months to establish and explore canonical narrative, as well as release an initial batch of playable objects. The business plans to launch a closed alpha for early users in the fourth quarter.

The developers expect that diverse buckets of experiences will lure individuals into the gameplay, whether they want to be competitive or spectators. They might also concentrate on handicrafts.

The outfits that players construct are made up of modular constructed elements. As a result, players have a lot of leeway in customizing their outfits. Exosuits, according to Beauregard, are wearable vehicles.
