Metasource Games' Castles and the upcoming Dungeons Rising expansion is a fun way to become a true stakeholder in your game and in the community. One thing that truly sets this NFT game apart from others is that the developers are making NFT gaming accessible to all and are completely transparent about the project and their identities.

How Metasource is Different

To start, The Metasource team is working hard to make the game as accessible as possible. They are constantly adding updates that make it easier for users to play. For example, they are working on adding WAX wallet creation assistance to their website. This enables players that might be new to NFT gaming to find all the information they need in one place to get started and play, rather than navigating to multiple other sites and being bombarded with information.

The group also takes great care to be as open as possible to the community and prospective players. This is an important point because many of the NFT games developed have turned into get-rich-quick scams and pyramid schemes. Joshua Cantrell, one of the devs, commented, "one of the main ways that we have found to make people more comfortable and help them get started is to get in front of the camera ourselves. And we will take questions, walk people through it and allow them to even ask hard questions and disagree or share their, you know, sometimes vehemently expressed doubts in the system. And that's something that's very unusual; I would say most of the blockchain company community sections that I've come in contact with boot people from the community if anybody comes in and asks too many difficult questions or has a lot of significant doubts."

Joshua added that many NFT gaming communities employ chatbot services to make it appear as though they have a vibrant and robust community composition. He said that Metasource will never use chatbots and always allow conversations on Discord and other platforms to occur organically. He also warned players, can you really trust them with your hard-earned cash when devs refuse to show their faces and reveal their names?

He then noted, "I stream a couple of times a week, and you can see my face, and you can pop in and ask me any question you want. As random and weird as it is, it doesn't even have to be about our game. You can ask me about a different game. You know, have you played Elden ring lately? I'd say no, I don't have time for Elden ring because I'm too busy building this game. But I see other people play it, and I live vicariously through watching their streams sometimes, you know, silly questions like that. It's totally fine. And it's important to people, and we really find it to be very successful; it helps people understand that we're actually building a real game that's going to continue for the long term. That we're real people doing it, and we're not just going to disappear and pull the rug out from under them."

In addition to catering to players with little NFT experience and total transparency, the team also gives back to their community. They recently returned 250,000 WAX tokens to the community during a building project, which is equal to about $24,000 today.

Lastly, the game is based on scarcity. Meaning that devs won't be minting tons of new game pieces for any reason. They stick to a pre-planned release schedule, most of which can be easily found in their whitepaper, to ensure that game pieces gain and retain value. Through all their efforts, the group is working really hard to change the way NFT gaming is perceived because when it comes down to it, it's all about owning your place in the game.

About Castles and the Dungeons Rising Expansion

Castles with the Dungeons Rising expansion is played on the Metasource website; people playing the game can hear announcements about new drops and projects on the website's event page or on Discord, Twitter, YouTube and Medium. Helpful guides and tutorials for gameplay can also be found on these community resources.

To start playing, players purchase NFTs with WAX tokens. Each NFT has different attributes that contribute to the game's progress in various ways. For example, a castle earns a player 2,430 Msource tokens hourly and one Royal Seal each day. Msource tokens can be used to purchase additional game pieces in-game and be exchanged for WAX tokens. Here is a great tutorial video about how to play the game (but the website is outdated!), a timeline walkthrough of features from Kevinsmak (all of which are live now!) and they top the list of WAX games from  Warrior Lion Gaming.

Castles and the Dungeons Rising expansion gives players almost endless opportunities to personalize their worlds and characters. For example, Joshua mentioned that the game provides players with over one sextillion character configuration choices. So "if every human being on Earth played our game and had a million characters, it would still be possible for every single one of them to be unique," shared Joshua.

Metasource Games' Castles with the Dungeons Rising expansion is a great way to get your feet wet in the NFT gaming world. It is also run by a group of devs that truly believe in the project and want to give everyone the opportunity to hold a stake in a game that is gaining popularity due to the transparency and ease of use offered.
