Roya Ghassemi is a professional graphic designer and graduate of the University of Tabriz. She shares over eight years of experience in the art world operating from Düsseldorf, Germany. Roya grew up in northern Iran and attended art school in Tabriz before migrating to Germany. By growing up in a culture that challenges oppressed women, Roya is shaped into the powerful feminist she is today; it goes without saying that her background wasn't easy, and constantly put her values to the test daily.

She had always admired the beauty of Persian history, art, and poetry. Still, she knew she wanted to live in a Western society where everyone was treated equally, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or religious beliefs.

Roya picks out a niche to create beautiful physical sketches and paintings for notable people and families, usually in the form of portraits, early in her art career. During these formative years, she developed her now-famous vintage style, frequently incorporating elements of nature and occult symbols alongside female figures. Her painting depicts the layers she continues to shed as she recovers and finds strength in letting go of these mismatched impressions from her past. She hopes to strengthen support for more women in the future through her foundation by aligning with women-led firms.

Roya is also an enthusiastic feminist who devotes her time and energy to promoting women's rights and mentoring young women, particularly in the arts. She grew up subjected to a constant passive assault on her human rights and has always rejected this notion.

Roya has spent the last year successfully establishing herself in the NFT space. She learned in March 2021 that artists were trying to find new success in the digital realm through NFT sales on platforms like Opensea and Foundation. Roya rapidly learned the ropes and began to carve out a niche for herself in the new digital art world.

Things moved slowly at first, but she never ceased networking and adding magnificent new works of art to the collections she'd built on these platforms, and in no time, collectors began to notice. She received early support from a few well-known art collectors in the digital arena, and as her works gained value, more collectors took note and followed her journey.

Thousands of artists and collectors worldwide are familiar with Roya's (r0yart) work. Her current works are decidedly figurative in style and speak to older and younger generations. They feature iconic feminine forms woven richly with symbolic and often surreal elements, coming together in either black and white or vivid color final pieces with perfect balance and a strong vintage essence.

Beyond the features of her art, Roya has received invitations to speak at festivals and events like SXSW in Austin, Texas, and NFT Liverpool in England. After more than a decade of building a name for herself in both the private physical and internet art realms, Roya is setting her sights on inclusion in an ever-evolving environment of physical gallery spaces and art events, both abroad and in the United States.

Given her grit and track record in this space, several European, Middle Eastern, and American agencies and galleries have approached her about participating in upcoming openings and shows. Before accepting invitations for these events, she is taking her time to decide which direction she wants to take her physical appearance.
