Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Fold 3 owners are getting a massive update, the Android 12L, the South Korean tech giant just announced.

And on top of the now a-year-old Fold 3 and Flip 3, Samsung says the new update is also rolling out to older devices.

The South Korean firm went on to unveil what current users of its foldable devices could expect with the major Android update.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, Fold 3 Are Getting Android 12L

As per a news story by 9to5 Google, the renowned foldable phone maker, Samsung, has officially confirmed that its older folding mobile devices are finally getting the Android 12L update.

Samsung announced that the all-new Android 12L update is coming to the predecessor of its next-gen foldables, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 3, which it introduced over a year ago.

9to5 Google highlights in its report that the new update coming to these sought-after foldables is actually part of the One UI version 4.1.1 of the giant phone maker.

It is to note that it is the same software that powers the most recent offering of the South Korean tech giant, specifically the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and the Galaxy Z Fold 4.

Coming to Older Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, Fold?

But besides these newer folding mobile devices, the new update looks to keep the older foldable up to date despite their age.

To be less vague, the Android 12L is also coming to much older offerings, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 2, the Galaxy Z Flip/5G, and the first-ever iteration of the Galaxy Fold.

So if you still have your hands on these said foldable, you are still getting the latest Android 12L update starting today.

Android 12L for Samsung Foldables: Are There Anything New?

Yes, the latest Android 12L update brings a couple of changes to the older foldable of Samsung.

According to a post by Samsung Newsroom, the new Android 12L update brings various improvements for the Galaxy Z Fold devices to maximize its massive display for productivity. It introduces a refined taskbar, which now allows users to open multi-window from anywhere.

On the other hand, the new update also improves the overall experience for the Galaxy Z Flip. Its tiny Cover Screen now embraces new features like making calls and replying to a text with emojis or voice-to-text.
