This new application will now be able to opt-in for users to receive push notifications just for social check-ins, where users will be taking a photo from their back and front photo simultaneously at any random time for a day. This will also notify them even if their notifications are off or silenced.

The features are very similar to the French social application BeReal, which is very popular nowadays. The purpose of TikTok in making this new application is for users to capture authentic moments on camera without filters as Mashable stated in their report.

The top three countries that market the application are the United States, the United Kingdom, and its home market France.

Tiktok did not give any clarifications on what are the strategies on making a standalone application as TikTok Now was originally a feature in the application. Yet the social media platform only said that they are in the phase of experimenting.

These were done for the users to enjoy their experience with what the application is offering, and aims to improve it as the TikTok community welcomes the newly launched application.
