The popular augmented reality game 'Pokémon Go' has made the much-anticipated return of the Dia de Muertos event. According to Eurogamer, during this brief Pokémon Go event, players can complete a Dia de Muertos Collection Challenge and collect a variety of event-exclusive field research tasks.

According to a game news release, the event will include brand-new bonuses, an exciting Collection Challenge, and even Pokémon wearing cempasúchil crowns.
If you are not familiar with the flower, cempasúchil, also known as "flowers of the dead," are bright orange and yellow flowers whose fragrance is said to draw souls to the altar during the traditional Mexican holiday.

The event will feature three Pokemon dolled up in the aforementioned headdress. During this event, the following new costumed Pokémon will appear Duskull, Dusclops, and Dusknoir. During a local hunt, players may come across a Shiny version of the aforementioned Pokemon. This only makes them rare!
Event Bonuses and Collection Challenge
Even better news: Lure Modules will be activated during the event and will last up to 90 minutes. This will improve PokeStops' ability to attract more wild Pokemon, which means that special Pokemon may have a better chance of appearing.
Additionally, Incense will be activated during the event and will last for 90 minutes. Is this good enough to catch a shiny Dusknoir donning a cempasúchil crown? The event will also include twice as much Catch Candy. This could be your best chance to see your previously watched Pokemon evolve.
Completing the Da de Muertos Collection Challenge by the end of the event will allow players to encounter an Alolan Marowak and receive a Poffin and an Incense! Not bad for a two-day event.
Lure and Wild Encounters
Any Pokemon GO special event would be incomplete without new wild Pokemon encounters. During the event, the following Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild:
- Cubone
- Chinchou
- Sunkern
- Roselia
- Litwick
- Swirlix
- Duskull
- Drifloon
- Yamask
If you are lucky, you might even catch their shiny counterparts. Trainers in Latin America and the Caribbean can expect to see featured event Pokémon appear in the wild more frequently.
The following Pokémon will be attracted to Incense and Lure Modules:
- Cubone
- Sunkern
- Sunflora
- Roselia
- Drifloon
- Yamask
- Swirlix
- Houndoom
- Duskull
If you are lucky enough, some shiny forms can also appear too.
Research Task and Rewards
According to Dexerto, the following are all of the Field Research tasks available in the Da de Muertos 2022 event:
- Make a Nice Curveball Throw - Roselia or Litwick encounter
- Make a Great Throw - Cubone encounter
- Make 3 Great Curveball Throws in a row - Duskull wearing a cempasúchil crown encounter
- Win a Gym Battle - Houndoom encounter
These Field Research tasks can be obtained by spinning PokeStops during the event. Remember that they are distributed randomly, so you cannot predict which one you will receive.
