If you plan on sharing a photo with the Internet world, you probably are selecting a filter, adding hashtags and uploading it to Instagram. You may then decide that this photo is now worthy to share on Facebook or Twitter.

But Twitter has a message for its top users when it comes to sharing pics: stop sharing Instagram photos. The social media company is teilling its high-profile users not to tweet their Instagram photos, and instead directly post the pics on its site.

Twitter users actually haven't been able to directly see the shared photos in the tweets since 2010 when Instagram decided to remove the "cards" that show the photos right in Twitter's timeline. Now Twitter users only see a link that takes the user away from the site and onto Instagram.

Even still, many Twitter users, including many verified profiles, continue to tweet their photos through Instagram. Twitter is now encouraging these top users to post directly to the site so that "fans will always see" the photos instead of text-only, boring looking tweets.

Worried you won't have the perfect lighting without a filter? Don't worry, Twitter attempted to add filters and effects during updates on its mobile app once Instagram disabled displaying images in tweets two years ago.

However, with more active users, Instagram has continued to gain popularity. And has even added more filters (Ludwig anyone?), so chances are users will still share their photos in plain, ole' boring tweets.
