Looking for a cool gift for a space or LEGO fan? Space.com tells us that this Lego Icons Galaxy Explorer set is now available for a more affordable price.

Walmart Black Friday Deal

Previously priced at $100, the retro-inspired LEGO Galaxy Explorer kit is now priced at $50 as part of a Black Friday deal live at Walmart.

Secure your very own Classic space set while saving $50 in discounts. Teens and adult space fans will surely have a blast adding the Icons Galaxy Explorer to their LEGO collections. The deal will only last for a limited time, and it is unclear if such a deal will be back anytime soon. Our suggestion: catch it while supplies last!

This kit is unlike any other, as it is a special set made to celebrate the LEGO Company's 90th anniversary. Unlike Star Wars LEGO sets and NASA-inspired ones, the "Classic Space" set is not part of a mainstream lineup, but it still has a pretty solid fan base. The LEGO Galaxy Explorer

The LEGO Galaxy Explorer is a reimagined version of a 1970s classic, making this set a worthy piece at any collector's show window. This scaled-up Classic 497 LEGO Galaxy set was introduced as part of LEGO's "90 years of play."

The Classic 497 LEGO Galaxy Explorer model (10497) in this anniversary collectible edition keeps all the fun of the 1979 set but on a larger scale. Take your time creating the features of this buildable model, such as the original craft's blended delta wing configuration.

The spaceship has opening rear doors, retractable ramps to deploy the rovers, and three retractable landing legs. The rover compartment, which has additional tools and an extendable ramp, is located at the back of the ship.

All 4 astronauts have seats in the spacecraft's interior, which is visible when the cockpit opens. There are also living quarters with two beds, computers, and storage compartments.

Play with a high-quality adult LEGO buildable model set and take yourself on a journey through time. It does a fantastic immersive project for you or a great gift idea for space enthusiasts who love models of spacecraft.

It is important to note that the kit is only suitable for ages 18 and up. The Galaxy Explorer kit is made of 1254 pieces, some very small and could cause a choking hazard. This 1,254-piece set includes four astronauts and their robot helper, plus a surface rover and accessories.

Many fans of Classic Space and the first Galaxy Explorer are sure to purchase this new set out of nostalgia pieces, and if this is their first modern Lego set, they may be taken aback by some of the building techniques and the kit's modern aesthetic.
