Apple iPhone 14 Pro Flashes Horizontal Lines When Booting Up

As per a news story by Mac Rumors, some iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone Pro Max users are now complaining that they started seeing flashing lines. These users say that random lines appear when they turn on their devices.

In some instances, it does not show up when the iPhone wakes up. Yet, it persists after booting up again.

According to a post on Reddit, the flashing line does not appear every time the phone wakes up.

Given that, some might assume that it is completely gone. However, users claim that it starts coming back when they try to boot their mobile device again.

The appearance of the flashing lines looks to be inconsistent. Mac Rumors notes in its story that some folks see greenish lines while others note yellowish color.

Meanwhile, another Reddit user says that the flashing lines for his iPhone are in yellow and blue hues. But in most instances, they are color green.

Apart from the color, the number of lines is pretty inconsistent too. Some users complain about seeing only a single line. But other cases sport multiple lines with varying sizes.

iOS 16 Software Bug is Causing the Issue

All that said, some iPhone users are worried that the display of the higher-end flagship phones will break.

The new iPhone 14 Pro is displayed during a launch event for new products at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, on September 7, 2022. - Apple unveiled several new products including a new iPhone 14 and 14 Pro, three Apple watches, and new AirPod Pros during the event.

It is worth mentioning that the iPhone 14 Pro models start at roughly $1,000. So breaking the display of these supposedly higher-end phones is a bummer.

However, it turns out that janky software is at fault instead of a hardware issue. Apple Support reportedly told complaining users that an iOS 16 software bug is causing the random horizontal lines.

So it seems that the displays of their devices are still pretty intact.

Are There Any Fixes?

The renowned tech giant has yet to fix the flashing horizontal lines appearing on iPhone 14 Pro models.

Given that it is a software issue, the best these users could do is to wait for the next iOS 16 updates.

However, Mac Rumors notes that Apple is still working on iOS 16.3. As such, it might take until next year before it starts rolling out.
