To the casual observer, they seem to be a standard pair of earrings, complete with huge and shiny pearls. However, upon closer inspection, they reveal their actual function as extremely covert earphones.

The clip-on or stud H1 Audio Earrings by Nova Audio employ directional sound to convey sound to your ears from two speakers hidden behind the two pearls. These days, wireless earphones are useful for more than simply listening to music and podcasts on the go.

How it Works

Like Sony's open-style LinkBuds or Aftershokz's bone-conduction headphones, Nova's technology adds "a layer of sound" to your surroundings so you can hear what is happening around you while still enjoying your music.

While the Nova H1's actual pearl serves as a speaker and directs music to the ear, it lacks the superior sound quality of wireless earbuds like Apple's AirPods Pro 2 or the Master & Dynamic MW08, and the enhanced situational awareness of Sony's LinkBuds, as Gizmodo puts it.

That means they do not have noise-canceling characteristics, which is great news for athletes and anybody who does not wish to shut out the world around them.

Features and Specifications

According to The Verge, Nova claims that its directional sound technology keeps your listening private, even though the speakers remain external to your ear.

The audio earbuds can play music for up to 3.5 hours or be used to make phone calls with four microphones for up to 2.5 hours. The charging case, which is styled like a sleek earring box, may be used up to three times, bringing the total playtime to almost 14 hours.

The earrings also include a button that may be used to answer calls and play music.

The downside is that these earrings weigh around 7.7 grams apiece, which might be uncomfortable if you are not accustomed to wearing jewelry.

While the Nova H1 Audio Earrings are constructed from genuine pearls and expensive metals, the battery is easy to be replaced.

The gold version of Nova's audio earrings costs €695 ($753 USD), while the silver ones cost €595 ($645 USD). Nova claims they will launch in the US and Japan in the first quarter of this year, after having been accessible in Europe for some time and showcasing them at CES 2023.

'Tech-Fashion' Link

Nova's audio earrings, which combine music with fashionable ear studs, are definitely clever and appealing. And even though Nova was the first company to market stylish in-ear headphones, other companies have tried to bridge the gap between the two.

Planet Beyond designed a cool set of in-ear buds in the style of a seashell, and you can get earrings that neatly connect to your AirPods, The Verge reports.
