Blizzard revealed that before the upcoming third season of Overwatch 2, there would be significant changes in communications with the gamers.

In a report by GameRant, Overwatch 2 executive producer Jared Neuss has confirmed that the team is working on better communicating with players in anticipation of Season 3's massive content updates.

Since the 2022 Launch

Overwatch 2 has had a stressful time since its release in October 2022.

The game had a rocky start due to the significant server and login errors, which irritated players until they were fixed properly a few days later. As a result, Blizzard gave out a legendary Reaper Skin to all Overwatch 2 players served as a free present.

Since Overwatch 2 launch, the developer has released a plethora of new updates and limited-time events like "Battle for Olympus." However, not all of them have been well received by the community.

Overwatch 2 is a free-to-play, live-service game with constant updates and improvements, but it might be difficult to keep players informed about these modifications. Recent adjustments to the support hero Moira are just one example of an upgrade that has not been universally well received by gamers.

Blizzard, though, seems to be making preparations to improve its communication with its fan base.

Better Communication With Players

Overwatch 2's executive producer Jared Neuss responded to a user on Twitter, confirming that substantial changes are coming in Season 3, including the often criticized 30% carryover in ultimate charge when switching characters.

The topic then shifted to how Blizzard plans to enhance their engagement with fans, with Neuss admitting that the firm needs better means to communicate to people when concerns like these emerge.

Neuss continued to explain the company's intentions to do so.

Blizzard plans to provide weekly or biweekly communications, possibly similar to what Bungie does with its Destiny 2 blog postings, to centralize all information and make it much simpler to discover.

Overwatch 2's release and future plans caused this matter to be pushed by the wayside, but now there are individuals working on getting this arranged and out the door as quickly as possible, Neuss said. Although at this moment, there is no established timeline.

Fans will likely welcome the news, particularly as it comes before Season 3, the first not to introduce a whole new character.

Season 3 will include new maps, modifications to the contentious progression system, and unlockable embellishments. Nevertheless, the details of these changes are being kept under wraps for the time being.

Season 3 Release Date

Since the current Battle Pass will expire on Feb. 7, it is safe to assume that Blizzard will announce the launching of Season 3 on that day or at least after that.

As reported by Dexerto, seasons in Overwatch 2 last for a total of nine weeks, so by the time Season 3 begins on Feb. 7, there will be enough time for it to be completely integrated into the game.
