Samsung recently debuted the all-new Galaxy S23 series, including the S23, S23 Plus, and the S23 Ultra. And as such, its predecessor, the Galaxy S22 is now cheaper right off the bat with its $100 permanent price discount.

So if you are still having a hard time choosing between the Galaxy S23 series and the Galaxy S22 lineup, the latter now gets a cheaper price tag.

Samsung Galaxy S22 Price Gets Cheaper Cheaper

GSM Arena reports that the all-new Samsung Galaxy S23 series is officially out. The S23 Ultra gets a couple of upgrades: from a 200 megapixel camera to a more powerful Snapdragon chip.

While everyone else is focused on the new flagship smartphone of the South Korean phonemaker, the tech behemoth quietly slashed the pricing of its S22, including the Ultra variant.

The entry level device of the previous generation now rocks a huge $100 discount, which unlike previous deals, is now permanent amid the launch of the S23 lineup. That makes the 2022 phone absolutely cheaper than the latest offerings.

How About Galaxy S22 Ultra's Price?

Unfortunately, Android Authority says that Samsung is only providing the $100 discount to the base model of the Galaxy S22 lineup. Therefore, the other two variants, including the S22 Plus and the S22 Ultra, maintain the pricing that it sported since its launch early last year.

It remains to be seen if the giant phone maker is planning on knocking out the prices of the Galaxy S22+ and Ultra anytime soon. But for the meantime, the entry-level S22 now only retails for $699.

How Much is Samsung Galaxy S23 Priced?

On the other hand, the Galaxy S23 series starts at $799 in the United States, whereas the S23+ with 256GB of internal storage costs nearly $1,000.

GSM Arena reports that the top-of-the-line option, the S23 Ultra, which is the most expensive among the bunch, retails for $1,200

All that said, the Galaxy S23 series is clearly more expensive than the S22, which now only sells for less than $700.

Galaxy S22 vs. S23: Side-by-Side Comparison

Now that the S22 is a hundred dollars cheaper than the entry-level S23, some might have a hard time choosing between the two. So here's a side-by-side comparison between the two Samsung Galaxy flagships.

First off, Tom's Guide notes that the Galaxy S23 upgrades the cameras and chipset compared to the Galaxy S22. The previous generation features a 10 megapixel selfie shooter, while the new flagship comes with a 12 MP sensor.

On top of that, the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 powers the current-generation. Its predecessor still rocks the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The S23 also gets a bigger 3,900 mAh battery replacing the 3,700 mAh of the S22, whereas the rest of their specs are closely the same.
