In a move that has surprised many in the tech industry, OpenAI's artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT has passed the first job interview stages for an L3 software engineering position. This is a major step forward for artificial intelligence tools, as the L3 position is a junior software engineer role, typically held by recent college graduates looking to start their coding careers.

ChatGPT Passes the Test for a Position that Pays $180,000 a Year

Such a role has a salary of up to $180,000 dollars a year per IT Homes. In response to claims that the AI may be replacing human developers, the tool notes that ChatGPT is only an assistant to human developers and not a replacement.

According to the story by Giz China, they argue that AI has different creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills than humans. Additionally, every AI tool must have human oversight and a guiding hand to be effective.

The Impact of AI Technology on Human Software Engineers

This development raises the question of what will happen in the coming years after AI technology has become more advanced. Will it replace lower-level jobs, or will it only ever be an assistant to human software engineers?

In this case, Google is adamant that ChatGPT will always just be an assistant and never a replacement. They contend that while there may be efficiency gains from using artificial intelligence, human developers will still be needed to provide their intellect and expertise.

The Major Breakthrough in AI Technology: ChatGPT Passes Exams for Law Courses

This has been a major breakthrough in AI technology, but it is unlikely to mark the start of the AI takeover of software engineering. It does, however, make it clear that artificial intelligence services are a force to be reckoned with and will be a major part of the tech landscape for years to come.

The enthusiasm for ChatGPT doesn't stop there. Recently, it was revealed that the AI chatbot had achieved a milestone that was thought impossible until now. In a joint study conducted by professors from the University of Minnesota and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, per Bloomberg, they imply that ChatGPT has passed exams for four law courses from the University of Minnesota and another exam from the Wharton School.

ChatGPT's Ability to Acquire Knowledge of Legal Matters and Pass Exams

This is a remarkable accomplishment for ChatGPT as it helped make huge strides in Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing even further. Acquiring knowledge of legal matters and passing exams meant for legal professionals shows just how far AI has come.

It will also help lawyers respond to requests much more quickly, allowing them to reach out to clients and get their opinions or provide updates as needed. For instance, if a client has questions about a case that has already been filed, ChatGPT can help the lawyer quickly answer them. This will help clients stay informed and enable them to make decisions faster.
