There are rumors regarding a new "Assassin's Creed" virtual reality game, which will be the second game in the series from Ubisoft, who has yet to deliver the first title to the world. There was a previous confirmation of the "Assassin's Creed Nexus" game to arrive soon, but until now, the game remains unreleased from its creators.

Additionally, the first game is supposedly an exclusive title for the Oculus Quest 2 VR headset, now rebranded as Meta, but it remains unclear for this new sequel.

Tom Henderson revealed in a new report (via Insider Gaming) that there is a new "Assassin's Creed" VR game in the works from the company, and this is a sequel to their supposed first game of the series. The report claims that Meta and Ubisoft already terminated their exclusivity deal, and the still-pending "Assassin's Creed Nexus" will soon be ready for a multi-platform release.

Ubisoft is also highly optimistic about the success of its first game in the "Assassin's Creed" virtual reality series, and they are already looking to develop "Nexus 2."

"Assassin's Creed Nexus" is one of the 24 new games from Ubisoft that will deliver in fiscal year 24, per the insider. It will be the only virtual reality title coming from Ubisoft.

With "Nexus" offering gameplay in the virtual reality world to take on missions as Ezio, Kassandra, Connor, and Haytham, the game's former protagonists and master assassins, hopes are up for the sequel title, which also remains to have no official name yet.

The 'Assassin's Creed' Franchise

Ubisoft is looking into the virtual reality world for its development of games and delivering them to fans for their enjoyment. Still, so far, there have yet to be any concrete developments from the company. A supposed "Splinter Cell" VR game was under development by Ubisoft, but it was ultimately canceled in 2022 after years of creating it.

While this may also have grave threats against "Assassin's Creed" VR game, particularly with the first one, there are no announcements yet from Ubisoft regarding stopping it.

It is not exactly a new venture for Ubisoft to center on a VR game, as back in 2016, the company brought an "Assassin's Creed" VR experience, but is not precisely what gamers hoped for from the devs.

In the latest report, it is not exactly a sure venture for Ubisoft to develop a new game, considering that the first "Assassin's Creed Nexus" title is not yet released to the public. All problems aside, there are hints regarding a second or sequel game coming soon, which may mean that gamers are set for new opportunities to enjoy.
