There is a new patent behind the Apple Watch's color-changing strap spotted online, and it will feature an array of different colors to choose from, depending on a person's requirements. The patent centers on using "applied voltage" to help set the new color for the strap, including different color combinations available in its spectrum.
Apple Insider spotted this patent on the US Patent and Trademark Office, focusing on a high-tech color change for the user to set.
According to the patent, it will be made with fabric that incorporated filaments on its material, one that would help alter the colors, similar to smart windows.

Apple Watch Bands: Having One for Each Color or Mood
Of course, this new patent is a massive step for Apple to deliver a color-changing experience for users on their Apple Watches. It is also unknown if this will come to the public anytime soon, as most Apple patents appear online, but either take significant time to be made or do not make it into mass production in the end.
For now, the only way to match colors or moods via Apple Watch bands is to have different sets of straps available, to change onto different ones, depending on the users' preferences.
Apple Watch and its Straps
Not all are fond of Apple's offers from its stores for an Apple Watch strap, especially as what the company offers are pricey, and may not be up to the design which a person wants. This is why there are famous third-party manufacturers of Apple Watch straps, to give users an option on what to purchase, with Cupertino giving them guidelines to follow.
While there are many straps to choose from including different colors, to different materials like rubber, silicon, leather, fabric, and the like, there are bands that bring additional features to the watch.
There is one which features batteries built into the strap itself, providing an extra charge for when the device runs out of power in its use.
On the other hand, there is a strap that features a camera and shutter button called the "WristCam," allowing users to take photographs of themselves or those around them with the Apple Watch.
People customize their Apple Watch because Cupertino made it interchangeable and highly customizable for their needs, with speculation regarding a "one strap for all moods" coming soon for all.
