The Beats Music app release is encountering launch hiccups and to counter the same and appease its irate users, its maker has doubled the free trial period.

The app went live on the iTunes Store on Jan. 21 and attracted a big number of music enthusiasts who downloaded the app. The initial surge in the app download has now forced the company to halt signing up new members.

The app has some bugs too and many users complained that after several hours of use, a bug in the software boots the user back to the start page to select music preferences and favorite artists all over again.

"Due to the extremely high volume of interest in our service some users are experiencing issues. Most people are unaffected but our priority is to give everyone a great experience. We prepared for issues like these, have a plan, and are going to hold off on letting more people in while we put this plan in action," said Ian C. Rogers, Beats' CEO, in a statement.

Rogers also said that customers who have downloaded the app can continue using the service while new customers can download the app and register, but they will have to wait until they receive an invitation from Beats. The company also confirmed that everyone who registers this week will get another seven days added to their free trial.

Customers will have to pay a monthly subscription fee of $10 to use Beats Music (which is at par to what Spotify and Google Play Music All Access charge). Customers who sign up for the service will be able to stream unlimited albums and songs and also have the option to download them for ad-free offline listening.

Rogers also said that the company will reserve the usernames for those who have pre-reserved their account name prior to the launch of the service.

"Beats Music is a new kind of streaming service that combines the best music experts and technology to always deliver you the right music at the right time. All you have to do is hit play. Access over 20 million songs, from every genre. Listen instantly or save to your device to listen to offline," per the description of Beats Music on iTunes Store.

If you're an AT&T customer, you're in luck because individual AT&T customers can access unlimited song streaming and downloads across three devices for $10 a month, and up to five family members across 10 devices for $15 a month. AT&T Family customers will also receive 90 days of free trial, while individual AT&T customers will get 30 days to try out the service for free.
