Starlink recently announced the availability of its famous satellite-based internet connections for global roaming, which means that people may take their subscription anywhere in the world for an additional price. The latest global roaming only requires its subscribers to purchase a router that would receive the connections from its orbiting vessels.

This highly expands what Starlink has to offer, especially for places with unreliable connections or notoriously known for having no cellular signal, opening up a new era of connectivity.

Elon Musk and SpaceX recently announced a broader experience for its Starlink internet services which centers on the Global Roaming features, widely available to the public. This is under the $200 subscription from the company, which is a required monthly payment for all users to avail of the global internet connection.

According to the company, users will be able to tap into the power of its orbiting satellites overhead to gain access to the internet anywhere in the world, despite the place being known for its unreliable connections.

Moreover, it may also be in rural or far areas, with Starlink allowing people to connect online despite knowing that there are no available connections in this place.

Buy Only a Router for Your Subscription

The only requirement from Starlink apart from requiring the public to purchase its $200 monthly subscription is a one-time payment of the Starlink global roaming router.

This basic satellite that will unlock the power of its orbiting internet connection is available from the company for $599. There is also a better-equipped hardware satellite from the company which costs a whopping $2,500.

Starlink and its Portability

One of the main promises and features of Starlink is its availability on a global scale, as SpaceX aims to cover the needs and wants of the entire world for this famous satellite internet connection. Despite the company only starting to roll out to the masses at this time, it is already looking into launching next-gen satellites for better connections.

With global coverage in mind, Starlink also previously claimed that it aims to make its presence felt anywhere in the world for its subscribers, and this means the portability of its internet. The company recently got approval from the Federal Communications Commission to apply its connections to RVs and other moving vehicles, as well as 'Portability.'

Elon Musk also previously claimed that it is available to install for boats, for getting satellite internet even when venturing to waters unreachable by terrestrial connections.

Not only does Starlink need to be hooked up on boats or land-based vehicles to function, but the company now offers an expansive global roaming feature that people may bring anywhere in the world. With only their subscription and buying the global satellite receiver-slash-router, users may tap into the power of satellite internet anywhere.
