Known across the world for its brilliant aerial cinematography platforms, DJI is taking its know-how to the next level by combining a fully lightweight system with a full-frame 8K cinema-level camera for unlimited inspiration.

Thus, the aptly named Inspire 3 proves to be one of the firm's most advanced and highly integrated hardware platforms yet tailored specifically toward filmmakers.

Announced today in a blog post, DJI's new Inspire 3 features several high-class upgrades over predecessors, like a full-frame Zenmuse X9-8K Air Gimbal camera, the lightest ever, that leverages CineCore 3.0, the company's newest image processing system.

CineCore 3.0 will allow users to record both 8K at 25 fps and even 75 fps, per Apple ProRes RAW video. As with most other models in DJI's fleet, the Inspire 3 can also hit 4K at 120 fps without cropping, thanks to the platform's S&Q mode.

It comes as no surprise just how much DJI has integrated and enhanced the camera technology, given the firm's long history in the field, but the Inspire 3 is likewise built upon one of the most advanced chassis yet.

It sports a highly lightweight portable body that is retrofitted with all the necessary additions, including visual sensors, positioning antennas, and the storage slot, which is positioned in such a way as to keep the aesthetics aligned with the product.

The Inspire 3 also allows users to seamlessly switch batteries on the fly thanks to the newly introduced hot-swappable TB51 intelligent dual batteries. On a full charge, these will allow the Inspire 3 a flight time of about 28 minutes, depending on wind and various other weather-related conditions, in addition to the used flight modes.

The new drone also has new features like 360-degree pan structures, Tilt Boost mode, and obstruction-free 80-degree upward angle, the latter of which is only available when the landing gear is enabled.

With its included 1TB of internal storage, the memory system on the Inspire 3 can hit 1100MBps write, and 900MBps read speeds, making it an ideal choice for creatives looking to expand their credentials with a host of varied aerial photography.

And the platform's new color system gives shots the most natural and lifelike renditions possible. It is easily streamlined to fit with ground-based cameras under DJI's fleet, like the Ronin 4D, for expert color-matching.

Beyond the internals, it's also capable of incredible flight parameters, like its newly-integrated RTK positioning, tri-GNSS system, which includes BeiDou, Galileo, and GPS, as well as an all-new Waypoint Pro function, allowing the pilot to easily set shot plans and flight-routes on a dime.

Thus, the Inspire 3 isn't just tailor-made for full cinematic crews, as even a one-person job is suitable on the platform thanks to its enhanced features.

The Inspire 3 is an absolute beast for night shoots due to its 161-degree FOV ultra-wide angle FPV lens, allowing for extremely low latency in tandem with stabilized shots, whether night or day. Its O3 Pro Transmission also means the Inspire 3 can reach as far as 12 km on a dual-controller setup and even 15 km with a solo controller.

Despite the distances, pilots won't have to worry too much about potential obstacles, as the new drone comes equipped with a state-of-the-art omnidirectional sensing system for the most optimal flight protection possible.

With all of these incredible new systems and enhancements, the Inspire 3 is sure to carry an astronomical price tag. At $16,499, though, it's not too bad of a steal, given the insurmountable amount of included features, allowing even just one person to become a full cinematic team.

The aforementioned MSRP includes the aircraft itself and camera, as well as the RC Plus remote controller, three foldable quick-release propellers, six intelligent batteries, a charging hub, a trolley case, 1TB PROSSD, and much more.

The Inspire 3 also leverages a full suite of additional accessories, making your cinematic film creations all the more streamlined and hassle-free.

It's set to hit stores by the end of June, but DJI is currently holding reservations for those interested in nabbing one of the most advanced and fully customized aerial cinematography platforms to date before it's too late.
