The next big feature coming to PlayerUnknown's Battleground (PUBG) players is the much-anticipated and revolutionary map rotation system. The PUBG official Twitter account recently announced the release of their new map system for PC and console players with their update 23.1, out now on PC and coming to consoles on April 20, 2023.

Keeping Players Engaged with a New Map Rotation System

According to the story by Neowin.net, the concept behind this update is to aid players in exploring new terrains without the steep learning curve associated with a new map. To do that, PUBG has instituted a new rotation system to keep game maps ever-changing and fresh for players.

The rotation system will rotate maps every week with two sets of maps cycling between two groups-Set 1 and Set 2. Set 1 will include Erangel, Sanhok, Taego, Deston, and Paramo, while Set 2 will include Miramar, Vikendi, and Karakin. The game's Ranked Mode will incorporate its rotating maps-Erangel, Miramar, Taego, and Deston.

The new map rotation system introduced by Player Unknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) developers is a surefire way to keep gamers engaged. Players can try out new maps weekly, keeping the gameplay fresh and challenging, as announced on Twitter

Benefits of New Map Rotation System for All Players

This update is available for both PC and console players, with the release for the PC already rolled out and the consoles releasing soon. The map rotation works every week for normal matches and a full season for ranked mode.

There are two rotation sets of three maps rotating weekly with Erangel and Sanhok as a constant for normal matches. The two rotation sets include Taego, Deston, Paramo, Miramar, Vikendi, and Karakin.

For the ranked mode, Erangel, Miramar, Taego, and Deston are the maps included. Unfortunately, due to the low usage rate, the Haven map will not be included. Players of all skill levels can benefit from the new map rotation system.

Advantages of the Rotation Maps for Gamers

It will help gamers get a good balance of learning how maps differ and how to utilize each of the areas best. It will be easier for new players to get into the game with the rotation maps as the learning curve is not so extreme.

And for the seasoned pros, it will keep them on their toes with adjusting to the changing landscape regularly. To get the update for the PC, an update via the game's in-game notification is the way to go about it.
