The Italian car manufacturer will do this in order to transition to all-electric car production. Alfa Romeo's North American Chief Larry Dominique said that Tesla is the fastest-growing premium vehicle in the United States.

Because of this, they want to beat the giant EV maker in the U.S. by launching the all-electric SUV, which Alfa Romeo claims to be a better utility vehicle than the Model X.

"We think of ourselves as different from the others. We just don't want to blend in. We're not a gray BMW... Our customers tell us they buy Alfas because 'You're not that,'" said Dominique via The Drive

Alfa Romeo plans to launch its first EV model, which will be available as a hybrid vehicle, in 2024. But, the new all-electric SUV will be a bit late; with an expected release date of 2027.

Alfa Romeo All-Electric SUV's Other Details

Larry Dominique stated that the upcoming Alfa Romeo all-electric SUV will be a bigger E-segment car than the Model X.

Aside from this, he added that it will also have a higher ground clearance than the competitor. He confirmed that their upcoming E-segment EV will be designed and manufactured in Italy.

However, its interior and exterior design, as well as features, size, packaging, etc., will be ideal for North American consumers.

Dominique also announced that the main targeted market of the new Alfa Romeo all-electric SUV will be the United States.

Around 70% of its sales are expected to come from the North American sector. If you want to learn more about the new Alfa Romeo all-electric SUV, you can click here
