You probably saw Nicolas Cage in some of his famous movies such as "National Treasure" and "Ghost Rider." This time, you will see more of him in the upcoming update of "Dead by Daylight" where he will play the 38th survivor of the franchise.

'Dead by Daylight' is Bringing Newest Survivor Nicolas Cage

The popular survival horror game, Dead by Daylight, has just released an exciting update in its Public Test Realm (PTB) focused on testing a new survivor addition.

This time, it's none other than Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage. Fans have been eagerly awaiting Cage's arrival since his announcement during the game's 7th Anniversary celebrations and subsequent appearance at the Summer Game Fest event.

While his survivor perks remained a mystery, the latest PTB patch notes have finally revealed what this acclaimed actor brings to the game.

Nicolas Cage Lore in 'Dead by Daylight'

According to GINX, Cage's role in the game is not steering away from his real-life occupation as an actor.

The lore of the new DBD survivor says that after receiving countless awards, the actor said that it's all done and finished. However, while he's contemplating it, The Entity was summoned in his performance.

The Entity is a horrific creature with the ability to cast fear in the heart of its victims. Cage later discovered that he was in otherworldly Fog, a place where malevolent beings exist.

With that being said, he was trapped in this dimension to fight the various killers that are described as "deadlier than even the most scathing film critic."

"To say we are thrilled to have Nicolas Cage join the gaming world for the first time with Dead by Daylight is an understatement," Mathieu Côté, head of partnerships for Behaviour Interactive told Eurogamer.

What Are Nicolas Cage's Perks in 'Dead by Daylight?'

For those wondering about Cage's powers in the game, here are they:

Perk 1 - Dramaturgy: Dramaturgy activates when you are in a healthy state. While running, you can activate the ability by pressing the designated button, causing your character to run with knees high for 0.5 seconds.

  • This action grants you a 25% Haste boost for 2 seconds, followed by one of the following effects: being Exposed for 12 seconds, gaining a 25% Haste boost for an additional 2 seconds, emitting a scream with no further consequences, or receiving a random rare item with random add-ons while dropping any held item. The same effect cannot occur consecutively. Using Dramaturgy induces exhaustion for a duration of 60/50/40 seconds and cannot be activated while already exhausted.

Perk 2 - Scene Partner: Scene Partner comes into play when you are within the Killer's Terror Radius.

  • Whenever you look directly at the Killer, you let out a scream and gain the ability to see the Killer's aura for 3/4/5 seconds. There is a chance that you may scream again, extending the duration of the Killer's aura by an additional 2 seconds. After this, Scene Partner goes on a cooldown period of 60 seconds.

Perk 3 - Plot Twist: Activated when you are injured, Plot Twist allows you to enter the dying state silently by pressing the designated button while crouched and motionless.

  • When utilizing Plot Twist to enter the dying state, you leave no blood pools, make no noise, and have the ability to fully recover from the dying state. If you successfully recover by yourself using Plot Twist, you are instantly fully healed and gain a 50% Haste boost for 2/3/4 seconds. However, if you recover by any other means, this perk deactivates. Plot Twist re-activates when the exit gates are powered.
