Hasbro and the robotics toy manufacturer Robosen have collaborated to produce the ultimate Transformers toy that truly transforms, following the cinematic release of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts.

The newest toy from Robosen, Grimlock, brings the ruler of the Dinobots to life with robotic changes, precisely as in the television series. But at the price of $1,700, this realistic feature comes at a high cost, according to The Messenger.

Although choosing Grimlock for such an expensive toy would seem like a niche decision, this isn't Robosen's first time working with Hasbro. With costs ranging from $400 to $1,000, the business has already released two distinct Optimus Prime robots, a Bumblebee robot and an add-on trailer kit for Optimus Prime.

The Grimlock G1 version, which measures around 15.4 inches in dinobot mode and 15.0 inches in robot mode and is equivalent in size to the $699 Optimus Prime Elite, arrives in a bigger package to handle its total mass.

Awesome Toy

Using a particular app, 34 servo motors transform Grimlock into a robot that can walk, speak, attack, and carry out pre-programmed dance or fighting routines. Grimlock has weapons, all of which have lighting effects, much like the Optimus Prime action figure. Grimlock also has various bodily components.

Grimlock may be easily controlled via voice commands or the companion app. Gregg Berger, the cartoon's original voice actor, has added more than 150 voice lines to the robot.

There are various extra accessories in the package. These include his recognizable red Energon Sword and a black Galaxial Rocket Launcher with two lit-up barrels, among other weaponry.

A "Crown of Leadership" is also included as an added touch as a tribute to Grimlock's haughty demeanor. As a limited edition release counter, Robosen also included a golden metal coin with Grimlock's likeness in the box, according to a PC Mag article.

A cable and a charger block are included in the package, and it's important to note that Grimlock may be simply charged through USB-C. The robot can be played for almost two hours after a full charge.

Grimlock Cannot Fly Though

Despite its awesome features, Grimlock is oblivious to its surroundings. It may unintentionally fling itself off a table, making it difficult to turn or move in a straight path, per The Verge.

Moreover, Grimlock struggles on carpeted surfaces, often tripping or running into various problems. Although voice commands may control Grimlock, they are sensitive to joint manipulation and sometimes need a complete reboot to make adjustments.

Over the previous two years, Robosen's app UI has mostly stayed the same, and glitches and Bluetooth disconnections still occur sometimes. The programming interface is difficult to use without a tutorial.

In the 1984 Transformers cartoon, Optimus Prime and the Autobots created the Dinobots to fight the Decepticons. Ancient dinosaur bones inspired the heroes to develop their dinosaur robot companions.

Eventually, after seeing Optimus Prime's bravery, the strong Grimlock changed his mind about joining the Decepticons and asked the Autobot leader for forgiveness.
