"The Simpsons: Hit and Run" is one of the most classic games of the early 2000s, and now, a dedicated fan has made a remake with Unreal Engine 5, resulting in the title having massive graphics upgrades.

Developer Uploads Series of Videos for Their Remake of 'The Simpsons: Hit and Run' from Scratch

According to the story by Insider-Gaming, it took a certain YouTube channel a year before its creator and developer decided to take on a hard challenge, remaking "The Simpsons: Hit and Run" from scratch.

The developer, known as reubs, was able to restructure the now 20-year-old game completely. While the remake was already covered in the past, the new video uploaded to YouTube shows massive improvements, especially regarding graphics.

The Original Game was Launched in 2003, and the Remake Might have Trouble Releasing

It was also noted that to accomplish the remake, the YouTuber used Unreal Engine 5 to remake the game, which launched in 2003. Despite it looking amazing, gamers that want to try it might be less lucky.

This is because this is an unofficial remake, and due to copyright and other concerns, the game might never see a public release for just anyone to play. However, fans can still enjoy what happened.

'The Simpsons: Hit and Run' Lead Designers Gave Their Thoughts on the Remake

Even the Senior Game Designer of "The Simpsons Hit and Run" shared their thoughts about the project. Joe McGinn, its lead designer, said that the remake was "Amazing" and commended the developer for their "impressive work."

A report by Game Rant clarified that despite fans asking for an official remake of the classic "The Simpsons: Hit and Run" for years, everything is still up to its developer, Radical Entertainment. While the developer is still in business, it was noted that they no longer hold rights to the game.

Radical Entertainment has No New Developments in About a Decade

Radical Entertainment also has yet to develop a title in about a decade. Because of this, it remains to be seen how much power the studio actually holds when it comes to producing an official remake of the game.

The report notes that it's certain that an official remake will likely be released for a while. The only option for fans is to make another remake themselves or play the original game again.

The Game was Initially Released for GameCube, PS2, Xbox, and Windows

The game was officially released on GameCube, the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Microsoft Windows. The game was categorized under action-adventure and driving and had options for single-player and multiplayer modes.

It was noted that the remake project of "The Simpsons: Hit and Run" reached its full development in June 2022 with a chronicled series of videos on YouTube to show viewers the updates of the development process. Every single element of the game was remade to mirror the original game.
