If you are now a full-pledged Threads user and denounced Twitter and other of its alternative apps, chances are that whenever opening the app, you see more of what the algorithm decides for you. And no, the "Following" feed is not broken on Threads' current version now, it is only set on default to the "For You" page of the app.
However, it is not easy peasy to change from the For You to the Following feed, especially as users have to do this every time they open it.
Threads Following Feed is Not Broken, Here's How to Access

Threads have an interesting take on its feed, as while it is unified in one look, it highly relies on Meta's algorithm to tailor it for users, making it confusing for some and not finding the posts from the people they follow.
While it is not entirely clear how users can switch from one feed to the other, there is a way to do so.
According to The Verge, users need only to tap the home button or scroll to the very top of the page to click on the Threads icon to effect the changes.
The only thing is that it would not be clear which feed you are, whether it is the Following or the For You which has been sorted using its algorithm.
It is important to note that the Following feed is not broken, and it will show user posts in the reverse-chronological order.

Meta's Threads is Set on 'For You' on Default
Meta designed the Threads to show the "For You" feed on default, highly relying on its system and algorithm to tailor the content a user would see, based on their previous interactions and other metrics. That being said, there are no clear tabs that will help users determine what feed they are on like what TikTok and Twitter brought.
Meta's Threads and its Features
Threads grew to astronomical heights in its early stages, and it is one of the most famous social media platforms in the present, crossing over the 100 million user threshold in over a week. Considering that it is an app inspired by Instagram, the text-only platform gave users a place where they are mostly free from Twitter's policies and changes.
It still is part of Big Tech, considering it is from Meta, but it remains a different app to Twitter, despite Elon Musk's accusation of Meta stealing trade secrets by employing the workers it fired.
Users can post mixed media content like what Twitter brought, as well as repost, quote, and react to published content, but they can only share via Instagram or other apps and not via DMs.
Meta has been massive on the algorithm and pushing for a feed that is tailored by its algorithm and AI, but is looking to revert Instagram and Threads' content to a chronological feed. Still, there are the For You and Following feeds which are quite confusing for first-time users, especially as unlike Twitter it does not appear as tabs users can shuffle to.
