In a new decision by Elon Musk regarding X's operations and employees, he has confirmed that he removed various employees under the "Election Integrity" team after an issue surfaced. It remains unknown how many were removed from their posts as part of X's Safety Team, those that are concerned with keeping the peace online and moderating its content.

Content moderation online centering on dis/misinformation has gunned for X, with the company best known for opting out of various policies against it.

Elon Musk confirmed that several employees part of the "Election Integrity" team over at X are now gone, removed from their posts after news about the controversy spread. In his tweet, the social media owner said that this team was "undermining election integrity," using quotation marks that seem to be questioning their credibility and work.

The latest issue is widespread now, with many picking up on various events over at X, and CEO Linda Yaccarino confirming that the employee cuts were part of its plans but does not mean it dissolves the team.

It is unknown how many employees were removed from their posts, as well as if this will affect X's safety, integrity, and fight against misinformation in the platform, something which is also an issue against social media now.

Did Musk and an Employee Have an Issue?

According to various reports, Musk and an Ireland-based employee, Aaron Rodericks, had a dispute online after the latter went to court to halt a disciplinary process at X. It was also claimed that Rodericks allegedly liked posts from X that were critical of Musk, the social media, and its CEO.

In a now-deleted post, the recently fired Rodericks posted that X would be filling up the Threat Disruption team with new employees, saying that he would "build out solutions to support" many things pointing out to investigations, elections, and engineering.

X Dis/Misinformation Online

Different organizations and groups have taken it upon themselves to expose X of what it is doing on the platform, particularly with the prevalence of dis/misinformation found on its platform. One of the hottest topics now is Climate Disinformation which propagates on X, with their efforts lagging behind the many initiatives, one that is considered harmful to the public.

Already raking poorly on various fake news or misinformation policies, the EU has also released its report regarding X opting out of the voluntary fight against disinformation online. The study included X despite the company's withdrawal from this, in spite of the adherence of its rivals like Meta, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn, still finding its poor management of fake news on the platform.

Musk has aired the company's dirty laundry about the recent issue, citing that the said team has already been removed from the company. The issue between Rodericks and Musk is about the latest cuts from the team, looking forward to X's future moves regarding its "Threat Disruption" group which the company would fill, with the problem still far from being over.
