Some employees may have various numbers, one for work and the other for personal, and if you are using WhatsApp on both, keeping it on one device would no longer be a problem thanks to the latest Multiple Accounts feature. In a single device, users may log in to two WhatsApp accounts where they can easily switch between or among, offering access without needing another phone.

While this feature is not exactly new among instant messaging apps like Telegram, WhatsApp's latest update caters to its massive user base in the present.

Recently announced by Meta via a press release, WhatsApp now allows the use of multiple accounts on a single device, meaning that users no longer have to log in and out every time they need to switch. As per Meta's release, this feature can hold only two accounts at the same time for now, but it remains unknown if it will add more in the future for those looking to use it.

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg also announced this via a Facebook post, stating that users can easily switch from one account to the other via the app. This feature is rolling out now, but if it is not yet available to your device, ensure that you have the latest version of WhatsApp and wait for its arrival.

This also helps solve the dilemma of carrying two phones at once, a previous setup for WhatsApp users.

Here's How to Add Another WhatsApp Account

Meta said that adding a second account is fairly easy, and users only need to have a second phone number and SIM Card. Also, it requires the device to accept multi-SIM inserts or eSIM for this feature to work.

Go to your WhatsApp settings, tap on the arrow next to your name, and choose "Add account." Meta said that users may set the preferences for each account logged into their single device.

WhatsApp and Meta's Developments

Despite initial issues and user complaints regarding data safety, WhatsApp remains widely used, with Meta offering significant support, updates, and new features to enjoy via the platform. It recently offered business-oriented features on the instant messaging app, including Flows, its new in-app shopping experience, and the Meta Verification feature.

Previously, it has been an issue for the public to transfer their WhatsApp data from one device to another, proving to be a challenge to upgrade to new smartphones for those in the app. However, Meta offered this recently, with seamless transfers from one device to the other, and earlier this year, added the transfer feature through scanning QR codes.

WhatsApp remains a popular app, and it is used for various experiences including work or business, and personal needs with friends and family. Having two or more accounts would no longer be a problem for a WhatsApp user, particularly as Meta now allows holding multiple accounts in a single device, also bringing a seamless switch from one profile to the other.
