Uber has taken pride in offering the top experiences for customers in ride-hailing and deliveries, but in its latest update, it aims to give its workers, the drivers and couriers, fair treatment in their everyday operations. While not all Uber workers are nefarious, some get a bad light from customers with unfair sanctions that have led to deactivations, something that the company wants to work out for all.

Despite this new focus, Uber claims that it will be safer and fairer for both sides, including customers and drivers, to get the best of what it has to offer.

While one of the main focuses of Uber is to offer a top-notch service for its customers, the company detailed in its latest release that it is taking steps towards improving it for its workers, including drivers and couriers. Uber announced more than 20 new features dedicated to its 6.5 million drivers to help them get the most out of their flexible work experiences.

Among the top new features include the "Record My Ride" feature for more cities in the country, offering drivers a chance to capture video on their device's front camera for easier documentation. Uber promised that no one has access to it unless a driver requests a review.

There is also a new feature coming next year that will verify riders for drivers' safety.

Uber also introduced improved app features like easier parking and drop-offs, Android Auto integration, improved map routes and navigation, and more.

Unfair Sanctions, Deactivations Notorious in Uber

The recent update also looks into driver fairness and safety, with the app now allowing drivers to petition the unfair reports and sanctions against them to be up for review by Uber's Review Center. Moreover, it will look into the false claims by customers that drivers will contest, especially as it results in the customer getting a refund, taking advantage of the feature.

Lastly, Uber will help drivers accused of drug impairment with a voluntary test that will help prove their innocence.

Uber and What it Has to Offer

Amidst an impressive Q2 2023 performance by the company, it is looking to soon deliver an AI chatbot centered on business-specific needs, with the venture looking to expand more of its services.

Earlier this year, the company introduced a feature for environmentally-conscious individuals that will help uphold the mindset and philosophy of what the company has to offer. The Uber app will show users emission warnings, and improved routings, and will look to require its drivers and partner restaurants to meet its sustainability targets, alongside its growing EV business.

As one of the world's leading ride-hailing tech giants, Uber has gone to massive lengths to improve the experience for its customers who expect an A1 service from the company. However, Uber's focus is expanding to all who have stakes in the app, including its workers who may or may not have experienced unfair treatment, making the service more enjoyable for all.
