There are new leaks that talk about Nothing's next release, with the Phone 2a coming soon for all and not the successor for its mainline smartphone lineup. There are also specs revealed by the leaks and reports circulating about this next device, and this is the same smartphone that users saw from leaks before when news regarding a new development was coming.

Carl Pei's renowned Nothing company is now stepping up as one iconic Android-based smartphone, soon to give its take on this budget device.

Nothing Phone 2a Leaks: Midrange Smartphone is Coming

A leak from Sanju Choudhary shows an actual image of the Nothing Phone (2a), a device that is meant to deliver a mid-range smartphone from the company, and it will arrive with nifty features and specs for all.

It is also the same device that Choudhary revealed towards the end of November, talking about a new device under development from Nothing, but is not the next-gen Nothing Phone (3).

Its model number is AIN142, and this would be Nothing's first take on a budget or mid-range smartphone, with its alleged name sporting the same suffix as what Google has for the Pixel.

Nothing Phone 2a Specs, What It Will Bring Soon

First off, in the leaker's claims, there were no mentions of its chips or SoCs to use, but it may be sporting a Qualcomm Snapdragon, as the earlier releases of the company are also using the same processor. And while it used the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ for the Phone (2), it is expected to use a lower-tier version from Qualcomm.

According to Choudhary, Nothing Phone (2a) will feature a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED Display, and it will feature a center-aligned punch hole for its 16MP front camera.

Moreover, it will feature a 50MP OIS Dual camera on its rear, alongside a 4920mAh battery to power the device.

Lastly, it will ship with the NothingOS 2.5, powered by Android 14, when it releases.

Nothing's Technological Developments

The main focus of Carl Pei's Nothing was to bring a different take on smartphones, and the company first released the Nothing Phone (1) in 2022, offering a unique design and features for all. However, its caveat was that the smartphone is not offered in the United States region, but rather to the European, Asian, and other parts of the world only, much to the dismay of US-based fans.

Good news came for 2023 when Nothing's announcement of the Phone (2) talked about a possible US release, and as per the initial confirmation of the company, it is heading to the region.

Apart from the smartphone, there were also two versions of the Bluetooth wireless earbuds called the Nothing Ear, made available to all regions since its debut.

Leaks regarding a budget, mid-range smartphone recently confirmed its name, the Nothing Phone (2a), and similar to the Pixel smartphone name, it is meant for those with a tight budget.
