IKEA's Smart Home Developments and Tech

Despite being popular for its home and office furniture, fixtures, accessories, and iconic Swedish foods, IKEA is also one to innovate on the products widely available to consumers from its stores. Since the era of smart homes started, IKEA positioned itself to be a part of it, with multiple developments available, including the Vindstryka smart indoor air quality monitor

The Swedish ready-to-assemble and DIY furniture company also went big with smart home developments throughout the years, known for its Matter integration and being part of this coalition among the Big Tech. Amidst Matter's release, IKEA launched the DIRIGERA, a smart home hub that supports Matter, compatible with most of the tech offers available here, including Apple's HomeKit.

Before this new AI assistant feature from IKEA and OpenAI's GPT, the company also had a virtual design tool that will help give inspiration and fitting looks for one's room.

IKEA's new AI assistant from the GPT Store will bring a combination of its virtual design tool and the LLM's power, helping users get a more intuitive inspiration and design instantly.
