The ban on TikTok is imminent, as the recent comment given by the President of the United States, Joe Biden, sparked massive concerns behind the ramping efforts toward the bill. The President is only waiting on Congress to vote on the bill and pass it on their end, and once the RESTRICT Act becomes law, the highest elected politician in the country will sign it into effect.

After speaking to the press earlier today, President Biden expressed his stand on the RESTRICT Act should it become a law, legislation that could ban TikTok, and commented about his stand on its case. Here, the POTUS said "If they pass it, I'll sign it," referring to the upcoming voting from the House of Representatives behind this bipartisan bill.

It only means that President Biden is waiting for the bill to come to his office and get passed by Congress. President Biden's sign will signify the passing of the bill, and the RESTRICT Act could then be used against the Chinese social media despite their efforts to defend their cause and fix what lawmakers found wrong.

What Does This Mean for TikTok's US Operations?

For TikTok, they feel like this is an outright ban, but it would give them the chance to decide on divesting from ByteDance and sever ties with its Chinese heritage, in 180 days, to continue operations.

However, this seems to not be an option for TikTok as they took this bipartisan bill's progression against their operations and the US' freedom of expression.

TikTok and the RESTRICT Act

The bipartisan bill known as the RESTRICT Act has been a ramping presence against TikTok for a long time now, and this is the one that is closing up against them in their operations in the nation.

Only yesterday, a massive development took place that advanced the bipartisan bill for a House floor vote, as representatives of each state voted pro, a unanimous 50-0, for it to near the steps needed.

This took place after the massive campaign from TikTok which sent push notifications to teens in the US to call the representative's offices and urge them to vote 'NO.' TikTok's plan worked, as offices were 'bombarded' with calls, but backfired as this helped turn the opposition to vote yes for its advancement.

The next step for Congress is to pass the bill on the House of Representatives when they convene next time, with its win amongst lawmakers pushing it forth to the White House.

POTUS Biden is only waiting for this to become law and fall onto his lap, to which he will sign it, putting TikTok right at the edge and forced to make difficult decisions for its US operations.
