Recent reports suggest that Apple is already making significant strides in the development of the iPhone 17, slated for release next year.

While the iPhone 16 is still in the spotlight for its anticipated design changes, leaks surrounding the iPhone 17's display technology have surfaced, hinting at substantial improvements.

The latest report suggests that it's coming with an unusual feature in the form of an anti-reflective layer.

iPhone 16 is yet to be released, but as early as now, there's a rumor about iPhone 17. The latest tells that it's coming with a new anti-reflective layer.

It's bizarre that as early as now, we are seeing rumors of iPhone 17 yet iPhone 16 is still not out in the market.

Since Apple plans to be less dependent on China for production, more iPhone 17 models will be made in India in the second half of 2025, popular tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicted last year.

According to a Weibo post by Instant Digital, Apple is set to introduce a revolutionary display technology with the iPhone 17. The upcoming device is rumored to incorporate a cutting-edge "super-hard anti-reflective layer," offering enhanced scratch resistance compared to the current Ceramic Shield glass featured in the iPhone 15 series.

Exclusive Feature for iPhone 17

While suppliers in China have received instructions for producing components for the new display, it is expected to be exclusive to the iPhone 17 lineup. This indicates that the advanced anti-reflective display technology will not debut with the iPhone 16, slated for release later this year.

Addressing Reflections and Durability

The move to enhance anti-reflective properties comes in response to feedback regarding the iPhone 15's display, which, although robust and color-accurate, falls short in handling reflections.

According to 9to5Mac, competitors like Samsung's Galaxy S24 series boast Gorilla Glass Armor displays, significantly reducing reflections and improving scratch resistance, setting a high standard for smartphone durability.

Potential Collaboration with Corning

While details on Apple's partnership with Corning for the iPhone 17 display remain scarce, speculation suggests that the tech giant may leverage Corning's expertise to develop its anti-reflective glass technology.

Notably, the Cupertino titan previously collaborated with Corning for the Ceramic Glass introduced with the iPhone 12 lineup, hinting at a potential collaboration for the iPhone 17.

Anticipated Design Overhaul

The iPhone 17 is poised for a significant design overhaul, with the advanced display technology playing a pivotal role. However, it's crucial to note that the device's launch is still over a year away, leaving room for Apple to refine its plans further.

In other news, Apple prototype collector Kosutam previously claimed that Apple will address the overheating issues that plagued iPhone 15. Because of this glaring concern, the company is expected to attach a dedicated heatsink on iPhone 16. This means that the upcoming smartphone model will be "cooler" than its previous model.
